Why did the man leave the house with her and the kids still inside?

This doesn't make sense. You'd have to end me before I'd leave my kids alone with a knife wielding maniac, idc who it is.

It’s always the ones posting performative things like plastic displays of love for pics for the gram, that directly correlates to not having true genuine depth or substance. We built a culture that rewards the appearance of love over the practice of it, then act shocked when people prioritize validation over introspection, substance, and the people they’re actually responsible for. We keep rewarding superficiality and wondering why society lacks depth.

16:57 I don’t think that the Clancy case is inspiring others to do the same. I think that it’s a symptom of our society not having enough resources for women. Of course, it’s never acceptable to kill your children, but I do think that we need to look at the systematic issues that has led to this violence. I don’t think people are seeing Clancy and going “Omg she did it so I can do it too! 🤭”

The doctors don’t know how to adequately treat postpartum psychosis because everybody is so different. You have to catch it early and separate the mother from the children until their mental health stabilizes. It’s all hormonal, especially if you already had underlying issues like anxiety, depression, bipolar, or anything like that.

This is why a guilty verdict is so important for the Lindsay Clancy case. If there were consequences for things like this, there would be no copycat crimes.
@kristen.washere
Ok I’m confused… first of all going back to sleep after seeing the wife exhibiting odd behavior and supposedly sleeping on the couch because of her behavior, that’s bad enough. But if his kids are being attacked by their mother with a damn knife… why would he exit the house instead of staying by their side protecting them, offering life saving measures etc? Very odd behavior.

Thankfully, I’ve never wanted to harm my children, but I’ve experienced both postpartum depression and psychosis. I had voices in my head telling me to off myself. I was booked into a mental health hospital for a week. If you and your loved ones have not experienced it, consider yourself lucky. Research maternal mental health. Most gynecologist have a little to no education on mental illnesses let alone the prescriptions that many of them give to women.

Not copycats, only now getting national attention. Since the 1970's the *U.S annual average is 166 infants are killed by Mom's with Postpartum Psychosis. That doesn't include older siblings, if the Mom was successful in taking her own life, or attempted murder.
Until recently most never made the local news. The majority of women take plea deals for manslaughter serving less than 5yrs. *⅔'s of incarcerated women who kill their infants have been diagnosed with postpartum psychosis very difficult to meet the standards after incarceration/no previous violence.
In nearly every case the signs were obvious. There needs to be a public campaign educating on the difference between generalized depression and postpartum disorders. SIDS was considered extremely rare but in a few years the numbers were cut by over 50%.
Take Lindsay Clancy out of the conversation and you still have 166 babies lost every year. More can be done.
*PubMED large scale studies and The National Institute of Corrections
