Audio quality on this one Patty is not great. 480p, that's lousy. Get it to Goodbye To You levels. Great song, great video Patty!

How was this not a top ten hit? Great lyrics, beat of 1984 and MTV ready.

I know some newer artists have been trying to add in some 80's elements but just like hair metal it was in its prime and perfection at that time and hasn't been fully matched since

It was too bad that the Record company broke up Scandal because that wanted to make Smyth a star on her own.

Imagine if Patty Smyth had agreed to take Diamond Dave's place in Van Halen. Eddie offered it to her after Scandal broke up. And I liked Red Rocker Van Halen... but Patty Smyth would have taken it in a totally different direction. Her voice would have totally worked with heavier music (not that Van Halen was heavy). But I also respect her declining based on her being preg at the time, and VH being a drunk circus.

In retrospect, they made her do too much in the Pat Benatar music video style because that was what they knew worked for women rockers. I'm just so blessed that the music itself was my measure of this song, not the video (that I don't recall despite growing up in the MTV era). This song stands the test of time. The breakdown (go to 3:34) even in the video's abbreviated form, gets me every single time.
