In my experience of learning German, this video was especially valuable to me. Because it provides a lot of good insights and a great mindset for different levels as a learner (not just someone who copies words from an article).

Recommendations for German:

Be patient.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

German is not as hard as people say. Make it easy in your mind to give yourself a better chance of learning.

Choose the correct content for learning: Don't just watch movies where you don't understand most of the dialogue. Choose content (reading, watching...) that you actually understand around 60% to 80%. This is so important because that's how you truly learn. Believe me.

Do not give up. Just do it. Just have a simple but effective and planned routine.
12:27 Dark! My motivation to study German is to watch this series without English subtitles
For people who wanna know the journey, she learn A1 on her own and A2-B1 are learn on Goethe Institute and B2 she learn it from the university. So yeah for anyone who will learn Germany by yourself without teacher, school etc and only relying to smartphone and internet, it's not the way
Hi Zoe,

This is a very useful video. Thank you for sharing it.

I have a question: when you talk about Nicos Weg, what do you mean by "watching the video again and rewriting the script"?

Thank you in advance for your answer. :)

Danke schön ❤

Hello everyone 😊
If you're learning German, I share daily vocabulary from A1 to B2 level on my channel. Simple words, clear meanings, and easy example sentences to help you speak confidently.

Feel free to check it out and learn a little German every day 🇩🇪✨
Danke schön!
Guys if you are in Maharashtra, India I highly recommend Let's Talk Academy. Its located on Bhandarkar Rd, Pune and has options for both online and offline classes available with multiple batch timings and also weekend/weekday classes.
12:00
It's not about them speaking too fast. It's about them sounding like they are eating salad at the same time, having such a strong accent that it becomes impossible to comprehend, stopping their thoughts mid sentence while relying on context and you, despite your best efforts, having the strongest accent imaginable.
Danke für eure tollen Videos! Sie helfen mir wirklich jeden Tag beim Deutschlernen. 😊
Ich mache selbst auch kleine Lernclips für A2–B2 auf meinem Kanal „Learn German with Milla Fuchs“. Vielleicht ist es für manche hier eine zusätzliche Unterstützung. Viel Erfolg an alle, die Deutsch lernen! 🌟
This week i found a teacher to start learning German, I asked her how much time will take me from zero to B1 and she said 2 school years or 1 and a half years, I said well i will do it in 8-9 months.
GL to me
Learning multiple languages is really difficult.
I'm B2 in English trying to reach C2.
A2 in French trying to reach B2.
and I just started learning German from scratch, so I only want to reach A1.
I really feel overwhelmed.
I can't believe you didn't list my favourite German comedy among TV shows: Stromberg. It's so hilarious and popular they even made a movie based on this series. It's a must-see for C1 level.
This is very helpful ❤❤❤ Thank you! I was just thinking about how to start and what material to use 😅 and you're really making my day with this video.❤❤❤❤
Hi, Teacher
I'm a new English language learner.
English is very hard for me I don't understand grammar and speak or words spelling. Please help me .
I followed this routine or study plan for almost 6 months and i've reached A2 and learning to advance the new level B1 thank you so muuch Zoe .
But i had a small issue that i didn't practice what i've studied , i followed the plan but without writing or speaking from these resources .

I found it so hard to be able to stay focused and aware of what i'm studying and this costed me alot of time to come back to the road or journey of studying the language .

Idk if i'm the only one who faced this problem but to give a quick advice :
1- try writing at least 5 sentences from what you've studied along the day .
2- as Zoe also said you don't have to understand all of what you hear , just try to listen as much as you can .
3- Speaking to Mirror or recording yourself is really important step . (If you're taking Lingoda lessons i think you won't need to do that)
and this takes us to the really important point that I didn't take lingoda lessons so i didn't apply on what i've studied as i said in the beginning .

Lastly , thank you so much again Zoe .
and I hope nobody gets me wrong for what i've said :)
Hi Zoe,
I'm 14 years old and I moved from Turkey to Germany about one and a half years ago. I've been going to school (Gymnasium, 8th grade) for around 5–6 months now.
I understand my lessons quite well, but I still can't speak German confidently. I need to learn not only everyday vocabulary, but also words from subjects like biology and chemistry.
Because I don’t know enough words, I always end up using the same ones, and that makes it hard to speak. I also hesitate to participate in class because I’m afraid of mispronouncing things or not knowing the right words.
Do you have any tips for how I can improve this?
Hello,Hope everyone is doing well.I'm studying German A1 on my own,the best source I have used so far is "Learn German for beginners"Youtube channel, short and simple.Writting my A1 Goethe exam on 26April 2025.

Like this comment and I'll tell you my results by then😂❤Just a little reminder
The structure and grammatical
comprehensive knowledge in German makes me be confused.
But,I wanna learn German,so your video is more helpful for me.
I exactly gave up study for German, but I decided to re-start one more time.
Thaks and Danke !😊
I am trying to listen more. And I think reading can make more inroads for me to push in learning B1 as I read well: I got IELTS 8.5 for reading without special training for it but just after the intermediate B1 course. With these advances, I can pull the speaking and writing parts after them instead of trying to have every language function at the same level.
