German here, I smile at the cashier, they smile back, hold my app of the store against the scanner silently, pack everything, see that they&#39;re finished, say &quot;card please&quot;, they nod, I hold my phone against the scanner, say &quot;have a nice day&quot;, them &quot;same&quot; (gleichfalls) and that&#39;s the whole interaction 😂
