My German mother when I tell her I have a cold #shorts
Open windows is me you HAVE TO get thy CLEAN AIR in! My kids suggests year me about it but every week i do it and ESPECIALLY if one sick they're extra cleaning and getting that nasty sick air out and we MUST get the clean air in. Plus Vicks on the throat, chest, back and bottom of the feet 😂
I think your German mother and my Swiss-Norwegian mother are related.
✅ go run around the block (which was a mile) and let's see how sick you really are. The distance of which neighbor's house I called from would determine how sick I was.
✅ the routine must be adhered to. I would be served white fish with dill, a slice of lemon, and a boiled potato on Friday for dinner no matter how crappy I felt.
✅ cleaning, which involved lemon Pledge spray bc dust was verboten and windex bc all my sneezing and coughing germs mucked up the windows.
✅ steam inhalation with a towel over my head. This was timed and if I escaped the towel before my mother returned, I had to start over.
✅ open the windows to air out the room, no matter how cold it was outside. This usually coincided with the steam inhalation. Sweating bullets under the towels and freezing everywhere else.

My dog always ate well when I was sick.
😂 I'm German and my mother made me have so many steam inhalations when I was a child and had a severe cold. I hated them. Ach, Laura, you definitely have to come to Germany. I would love to see your show.
I know this is an older clip, it just rolled past my feed again. I absolutely love your videos! It's as if you're watching my mother Renata in action. The first time I saw one of your videos, it made me so homesick. To anyone who doesn't have a German mother figure. These skits are super accurate! She loves you very much, that's why she bullies you.
This is far detached from reality. I live and work in Germany since 8 years and absenteeism is a real issue here. Germans are always ill and stay away from work for weeks...
Finally I understood what is so familiar about her. She's a lot like grandma was. Gotta wake up before any reasonable time, gotta clean up everything every week, gotta have all the radiators turned off and windows open.
My German mother had all kinds of natural remedies... wet sock around the neck overnight, onions wrapped on to bottom of feet lol not that I did all that!
