Apart from Germany’s well-oiled machine team in this match, it was Brazil’s overwhelming pressure that broke the home team completely.

It was 64 years since they suffered the most tragic defeat in their first hosting against Uruguay, so the team were emotionally fragile in this tournament.

What shocked me the most is Scolari’s team selection and he didn’t have a Plan B when Neymar was injured and Thiago Silva’s suspension. Without their star player and leader, the team is a complete mess. Thiago’s absence is proven when Germany exploited Brazil’s left back defence due to Marcelo leaving his position too often as well as David Luiz abandoning his post as captain.

I have to say that Brazil was never the same after this match. The next subsequent World Cups only saw them able to reach the quarter-finals at most.

I know, football isn't just a game to Brazilians, it's their soul. Germans should've stop attacking after the half time since they already know that there's no defence in the Brazil's side & they will win the game anyway. If the game would over at 5-1, it'll still be the greatest humiliation for a nation which lives with football but still, 7-1 is too much!

As a 🇧🇷 fan I still respect Germans that they slowed down to respect a nation otherwise the game could easily be end up with 9-1 or even 13-1! They're unstoppable at that time & Brazil got no defence but a burden of carrying the responsibility of 5 star in their logo. They're desperate to score but forgot to defend. Sad! :'(

However, both of the nations suffering since 2018. It's 26, Germany lost to Paraguay & Brazil lost to Norway. Hopefully, both teams can get their act together and give world-class performances again in the upcoming World Cup. No hate, you guys played very well & you deserved the win. 🇩🇪🤝🇧🇷
Peace <3

I remember watching this match when I was just nine years old. When Germany scored the first goal, I thought Brazil would equalize, but then came the second, third, fourth, and fifth goals, all within the first half-hour and I couldn't believe it. When the match ended 7–1, I was in shock. The five-time world champions and arguably the greatest national team in football history had been humiliated on their own turf and in front of their own fans. Greetings from Ecuador, a country in South America.

My dad was already up from his sleep. Then he told me to go his room and showed me the broadcast of this and said, "Son we just witnessed a massacre!" I think Germany just scored their 6th goal and the replay was being shown from the 6th goal.

Before I truly went out of the house, I posted a status on Facebook and asking everyone, "Did Germany really defeated the Brazilian National Football Team?"

To me I was in disbelief that Brazil didn't fought challenge Germany in their home field and own soil.

To this day I'm still mindblown whenever I get to see this from time to time. This is.....the most over sensationalized video ever regarding a football game ever. There were colossal mistakes from Brasil during the game...but they were technical...and there is no homework at all as to explain what happened. Budy..before babling...explain to people that Brasil would make their practices public...and that Germany had scouts right there looking at their layout. Everybody in latin american media know this that Brasil did that. It wasnt Brasil's loss of grace..just arrogance. German players knew exactly where to stand and how to approach the game. German players werent rocket sciencetists figuring plays as they happened. iTS NOT ROCKY! You need to stick to revewing Rocky movies and NBA cartoons. Im not Brasilian...but Brasil bounced right back after and qualified ahead of table to 2 world cups no problem! Luckily in latin america our sports media sticks to facts. OH Brasil is done for now!!! Da Tragedy! I seen reports in tv here that went into depth of what happened. Your video is a CREED 4 movie review. Oh the tragedy!
@unclefurbiesvoice9902
That was not the Brazil of 10-15 years ago, they played mediocre. Most / all of Whatever team they had then should still be playing now to have been as good. That's why places like Portugal will do good. Older skilled players will always out-do a bunch of 25-30 year old idiots overall. Brazil should be asking themselves what it's really about: Posing and sounding hip to rich tosspots, or actually succeeding at sports.

They should play this on repeat to brazillian players before every game to show what can happen if you get shell shocked during a match. I don't think in this case brazil underrated germany before the match, I just think they were technically inferior but mostly lacked psychological strength after the firts goals. Germany played better and won respectfully.
It was a sad but teaching moment of ego death for the brazillian psyche, since then no brazillian has ever felt sheer hope before a world cup game or even dared to held a belief that the country could win another WC.
