You go on and on about how the locals say life is so great, yet you didn't ask any women oh yeah that's right, what was I thinking!!!
Silly me, I forgot they were all at home doing exactly what their husband tells them to. Or they are waiting for their 15 year old nephew to escort them to the market. Oh dear, let's not forget that stylish and comfortable burka!!
I'd hate to be hung in the arena this weekend because I spoke too loud our some wonderful upstanding man, /😮saw my ankles well I'll be.
/scratching my head, oh wait is that illegal!!!! Wake up dear, shew thank you God.... I am NOT in the middle east pretending life is great so my hubby doesn't get his pecker lopped off, bc with my mouth, well you know, you read it here sweets
love and much luck from America,
Say what you may about this country but it truly is, Land of the Freeeeeeee!!!😊

Lol, the funny thing is western countries are under just as much surveillance as other countries and they always complain that their judicial system is a joke against criminals. I don't know how good Dubai is but people in the west confuse freedom with being able to do what you want all the time. You can be free and still have rules.

Ken, thank you for sharing this video and showing a part of Dubai the average person doesn't see very often. I think the negative comments by some of your viewers that you mentioned in the video are probably related to the horrible stories people hear of the human rights abuses by the Arabs/Sheikhs, and the Dubai govt. Some of the negative comments are probably also related to the plight and experiences of the working class immigrant communities in Dubai. Yes, on the outside, Dubai looks amazing, modern, clean, and safe; however, like most other major cities of the world, Dubai too has an underbelly and secrets. If you dig down and really get to know the immigrant community there. you might hear some terrible facts. For example, most of the working-class people from Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and the Philippines make bare minimum wages in Dubai after working excruciatingly long hours in very hot/almost inhumane conditions. The govt. does not provide low-income decent housing or healthcare to these migrants. Because most of the migrants send the money they earn back to their countries/families, in order to make ends meet in Dubai, they are forced to live in apartments that are like cages with barely enough space for each person to sleep in. If you want to read a really good book on this topic, you can read "The Dark Side of Dubai" by John Doglas. Dubai was built and is still being built on the backs of the immigrants from many low-income South Asian countries. It is really sad that even after several decades working in Dubai, the govt has not done enough to protect these vulnerable and hard-working communities. I hope this helps you better understand why some people may not view Dubai as a socially just, ethical and fair place.

Been living in Dubai for 4 years. There are lots of great restos, and finds in the non-luxury side of Dubai. It is actually fun to hangout to these places. It feels more human, there are lots of people and it doesn't feel artificial. However, these places are still decent and can still be fancy expensive. The true harshest place of Dubai is the Labor camp area.

Karak is Indian milk tea. The distinct taste is cardamom, which makes it special and addictive.

Regarding the western comments about Dubai. It's not 100% true. In Dubai alone, you can send complaints to the government, you can message them if you were mistreated by officials or government staff and they will take action. You can also message them about bad pavements, bad management, etc. and they'll take action right away. The labor department is also very active. If you message them about your employer, they'll immediately contact your company. It's hard to find residents posting bad things about Dubai, because it is what it is. We're not being silenced, it's just that the UAE government performs better than our own homelands.

People here aren't really that racist. We laugh-off our differences but we try to share each other's culture. Tolerance is key. I've been to NY, people there are so racist specially when you look like an Asian tourist. It was so bad.

@TNx368
@@TNx3684 months ago
It would be interesting to ask the expat workers from the Philippines, Sri Lanka and so on how much they earn versus how much they have to spend to live on. When I was in Dubai in 2016, that was an interesting perspective. Is that exploitation? It depends on how you look at it: they can get a job and earn more than they could at home perhaps? Isn’t that enough? And if it’s their decision to take on the jobs offered, then is it unfair? Interesting topic isn’t it?
@TNx368
@@TNx3684 months ago
Arab folks probably grew up in a strict rule based society would have no trouble with following the rules and would approve “harsh” punishments for those who step out of line. It’s something that perhaps many “westerners” who like more “flexible” rules can’t handle? That’s why places like China and the Middle East would put these folks off?
