Jan-July 2026 $18.9 treasuries sold, 80% short T-Bills, 15% bought by the Fed and 30y yield peaked 5.339% last week. Debt increasing by >$3tn a year. The way forward is QE, Inflation and high interest (as the T-billls roll over); maybe devaluation also? Capital has moved to (relatively) safe havens of commodities/ equities (not a bubble, except in AI sector). I expect a correction in US risk pricing with the loss of foreign trust and de-dollarisation.
It will not be post-America. Just that you cannot convince America to play your game. Globalism is over. WHO is causing multi-Polaris’s? EU, BRICS, ASEAN, etc - none is American?
Maaf tompang. Bertayak anak. Bumi mu bertayak kepada kamu apa kah kami mengjual pengmetik api. Soal itu kami tak jual apa2 pun melainkan peringatkan. Siapa yang bermain api dengan air. Siap2 bertanggong jawap. Kehedak permainan kalian kalau merasakan kehidupan itu satu permainan tiada mengbahYakan orang lain atau diri mereka sengdiri. Jadi tayak sengdiri. Siapa yang mengjual permetik api. Itu ? Sengdiri?
15:26 It’s really not comparable. China first has a very different meaning the MAGA. The U.S. imposed unconstitutional tariffs on all countries, China didn’t. The U.S. started several wars, China didn’t. Yeah China produces its own Chips, and what..? What’s the argument? The U.S. already started WW3 with Israel. China didn’t. And so on. China first has a different meaning, it’s not to hurt others, but to become a developed country.
I like that phrase, "trade liberalization." Interesting! Global economic downturn. Great insightful concepts regarding real time global relationships and innovative ideas!!
The host should be more respectful and stop interrupting when Singapore PM is talking. There were several times both talking at the same time, and the host just didn’t want to give way.
This interview has become viral on China social media under "Lawrence Wong interview with Canadian news outlet", which is obviously an error because FT is not owned by Canadians. But the error was passed along to all Chinese medium Youtubers so you see the same script: Singapore downfall, China punishes Lawrence Wong. It is amazing to reveal the propaganda machine, the error "Canadian news outlet" went uncorrected.
Why does every western journalist ask Asian countries to choose between US and China, for crying out loud they are still stuck in a very Eurocentric mentality. Every country will make decisions that’s in their best interest sometimes it will align with one country other times it won’t. They need a serious reality check.
I hate when interviewers interrupt someone who's getting deep into a nuanced and complicated topic, with a shallow question that brings the discussion back to the surface. Yes, interrupt and guide the conversation if it's going into a quagmire, but don't interrupt just because you haven't talked in a while. We're not here to listen to the interviewer.
why people around the world have real politicians that think about the state and people while we in Bulgaria have currupted idiots....
This gentlmen is briliant!
Singapore is the Switzerland of Asia!
The future belongs to them!
For more than 2 decades, there was no china to deal with until Americas opened it to the world. It was OK without china then, why then china be that important now, just because the world has made china economically powerful? China as a result has made itself relevant to the world as the world has allowed China to dominate much of its manufacturing requirements i nstead of distributing manufacturing g throughout the small potential countries around it. The west has mistakenly chosen a country like china a monopoly of cheap labor source. Now, after se eral events that the West has opened its vision in critical times, that a realization that china is more of a predator than a contributor to a progressive world. China now instead wants to lead & force its values to the world. This attitude has created a division and competition instead of cooperation among nations. Singapore, is able to insulate itself by accdg to mr. Wong by adhering consistently with laws, but when it comes to dealing with china that does not adhere to laws, Singapore is compromised that it rather keeps silent on the issue like the claim of china to all the South china sea.
The term "Balkan" in Southeast Asia is only used by Singaporeans, skeptical of the diversity of nations, ethnicities, languages, and religions in the archipelago. However, it turns out that this only occurs in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei Darussalam. Meanwhile, the real archipelago, Indonesia, remains united, and balkanization has not occurred.
Everything is dynamic and changes for the better conditions. Turbulence is necessary to weed out corruptions around the world. Singapore will decline after turbulence bc it does want the status quo and scare to change.
6:30 SE Asia has been at peace since 1973... except for the PRC invasion of Vietnam, Cambodian genocide, Vietnamese intervention in Cambodia, multiple civil wars in Burma, and the Timor l'Este war of Independence. But short of those millions of casualties, yes, peace.
First time I saw this interview, thought to myself. “What a great leader is the Singaporean PM”
Now I think. Why did she ask so many effing questions about the US to mister Wong?
After his first deflection, she could've moved on to a more productive conversation.
I like him. He seems important going forward in this realignment. And i like how unlike Alexander Stubbs he does not hesitate to be direct or work for it. (Mr. Stubbs is too conscious abt size of his country. But, he is important because the way he is a leader and he is indeed a great team player.)

Being from Singapore which is economic gaint in Asia, international community hence the influence, and amalgamation of culture gives him edge over others.
Realignment should have all those things... Amalgamation of all cultures, countries giving best they have to offer..they should develop USPs, one's who can't produce anything can go service based industries, or even just develop IT infrastructure, but yeh China and USA should stop acting like fufa ji and tau ji.
Singapore has a Brilliant mind behind their nation, the moment when the question about China and America relationship was asked he had to Sip the water from the glass but still this lady kept asking for more in detail...😂 But his answer changed the game... 😂 Males dominant will always be preferred over "weavings" just like trumph says...
He is not as good and smart as Mr. Li, he thinks he is smart, but he talks too much about other countries, a small country should not give directions to other country.
Maybe if the world showed some appreciation for what America has done for the world, we would continue to render aid when and where we are able!!!! We Americans want a peaceful, prosperous, and genuinely free world! Please don't forget that America has tried to promote these principles, we (our government) certainly are not perfect.....but Americans still care and are more than willing to take up arms and when needed to lay down our lives to protect these principles!!!!! Never forget these truths!
His recent comments about Sino-Japanese relations taking a serious downturn after Japans PM Takaishi's hardline against China of all things, that it would militarily engage with China over any Taiwan spat, shows Singapore is but a vassal to US imperialism.
An american globalist , slick willy from SCMC told me in 2020 that he had written off the USA. As an american I gravitated to my roots as an antiMonarchist, proud american constitutional law soldat. What is important is accountability and dissolution of the Nazi_BIS house of Ba'al ..... Jumpa Lagi beso pagi .
Reduce ministers base salary to 10k and keep 100K as variable pay tied to KPI
- If GST increase by 1% then KPI goes down by 30%
- If inflation goes above 2% then KPI goes down by 30%. Include HDB, school and transport into CPI data for real inflation numbers.
- If GDP goes down below 2% then reduce KPI by 20%
- If fertility falls below 1.5% then again reduce KPI by 20%
- If PR/New Citizen count increases by more than 20K then reduce KPI by 40%...

By doing this ministers salary will be tied to actual performance and there will be accountability.
This guy is a Incredible Leader! Singapore is in Good hands Going Forward! Been Many times Love it!
