It is a lot of hype. There are 3 places worth visiting- the domed garden(s), the light shows and the night lights at the viewing platform. The heat and the humidity is killing and little India, China town etc are not worth a second glance.

In the video, you showed an Indian temple and a Buddhist temple; you can also find a Mosque (one of the oldest in Singapore) along the same stretch of road. Singapore is probably one of the few countries in the world where you can find different religions and places of worship along a single stretch of road, less than 800m long.

Singapore is one place where many of the locals / permanent residents cannot wait to go back after their 10 days holiday. The safety, orderly manners, food selection, ease of getting around and getting things done right+fast just make life easier. Only issues we have as locals are 1) Prices 2) Weather.

Living in Singapore about 8 years now and what i can say that is so impressive to me is how 6 million people move about so orderly and respectfully to each other and the environment, how clean it is, how safe it is, its efficiency, its transportation, etc. .Shopping and food establishments are plentiful. The vibe is good. What I don’t like is the difficulty finding parking, finding seating as well the line ups at banks and food establishments at certain times of the day. Housing and vehicles are expensive. Its not a exciting place but its definitely worth seeing. Put it on your bucket list.

Still do the light show but play lot off christmas songs instead off the usual other types off music. The chicken is actually boiled, and then soaked in cold water for a while, and boiled again. Thereafer, they scoop the top layer of the broth (which contains that chicken oil) to cook the rice. Just a quick tip, if you are planning to go to gardens by the bay supertrees, go to bayfront and walk from there. The gardens by the bay mrt station is new and it is pretty far from the main attractions. Everything used to be built with Bayfront (MBS hotel/the infinity pool hotel that has a ship on top) MRT station in mind so alight there, the walk is more entertaining from there anyways.

Along the strech of the Chinese and Hindu temple in Chinatown there is one of the oldest mosque in Singapore known as Masjid Jamae built ard 1830s and sultan mosque is built in 1820s not 1920s as you mention in your clip. Btw Maxwell hawker centre is overrated, you can just take a train ride and stop at any stop and explore the heartland of Singapore and eat at the coffee shop or hawker center there.

Best country in the world. Safe, clean, easy to get around. Go outside the general tourist spots and see some of the real Singapore, and you will fall in love with the place. Go for a walk around Bedok or MacRitchie Reservoir. Eat in food courts under HDBs. Go places where you have to get a bus, rather than a taxi or MRT. If you have younger children with you there are splash pads and water play parks all over. Even the revamped Chinese and Japanese Gardens, and Lake Side Gardens are normally overlooked by tourists who want to stay on Sentosa or the Downtown Core area.
