Sophie, another lovely video, but there was no mention at all of Raffles; from an historical point or the hotel, one of the ten most famous in the world.
My late wife Stella and I used to visit Singapore once or twice a year, but she thought it was too clean! Their laws are draconian, particularly concerning drugs, litter and chewing gum - all totally illegal.

16:00 FYI for visitors, if you like wildlife, please, please visit the Zoo. It's one of the best in the world and the variety is stunning. Lions, rhinos, giraffe, chimpanzees, hyenas, leopards, tigers and yes, even Pandas. Much cheaper than going on safari for $500 a day. You can also sign up online for feeding times! Night safari & Bird Park is also absolutely worth it.

The Flower Dome is a “hidden gem” not quite fully appreciated by visitors. The variety of flora is simply astonishing. Also, some wild boars walked passed me when I was in Pulau Ubin. Some tense moments with my daughter by my side😅.

for any future watchers of this video. Singapore is hot and hiking/biking in nature is not fun if you are sticky and sweaty. I recommend getting those japanese super ice cool wet wipes from shops such as Guardian / Watsons / Fairprice etc. they make a hell lot of difference in your nature hiking / biking experience
@SuccessforLifester
Oh no. The gardens by the Bay light show during the lunar new year period was scaled down. Possibly due to their programming planning with the lunar new year event going on there. On other periods of the year the show would be longer

Singapore's efforts to expand its greenery began in the 1960s. Rapid urbanization had cut green space to just 36% but Singapore rebranded itself as a 'Garden City' and launched its first greening campaign. Today, it has preserved and reclaimed 78km2 of green space with a plan to add 10km2 more in the next decade. Known for its innovative green spaces, energy-efficient buildings, and sustainable transportation systems, Singapore is a model for Asia's sustainable urban development.

Very well researched. Very much appreciated as you’ve covered the better-known and also the lesser-known sides of Singapore. Just one nit to pick: the major ethnic groups are the Chinese, the Malays and the Indians.

You said “Malaysian”, which is a nationality but not the ethnicity. There are Malaysian Malaysians and Malay Singaporeans but not a Malaysian Singaporean. A person can be Malaysian or Singaporean but never both.
@MelvinSimKH
@@MelvinSimKH6 months ago
There are certainly better views than from MBS. Head up to Level 33, the world’s highest microbrewery at the Marina Bay Financial Centre. Buy a drink or enjoy a meal. This view is better because it INCLUDES Marina Bay Sands itself, which you cannot see from the top of MBS itself.

If it’s a free look you want, go up the CapitaSpring Sky Garden. You might need to book a slot ahead of time but it doesn’t cost a thing.

Belated WELCOME to Singapore 🇸🇬
Thanks for including some of our green spaces including our conservation areas. Many visitors are understandably distracted or attracted by our more glitzy tourists attractions. IMO it’s our heartland ie residential areas, community spaces, national infrastructure that are carefully and thoughtfully designed for our multicultural society to live, work, play and interact harmoniously is our real unique aspect.
Sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed your time and experience here.
