Great video. Brings back memories (not the $6k/night suite or the Rolls though…), but there was something I struggled with at the time: the tipping etiquette for such a luxurious hotel/resort where one is greeted/hosted by so many employees.
Do I tip everyone from (i) the two airport concierges, (ii) then the chauffeur, (iii) car doorman at the hotel, (iv) bellhop, (v) in-suite concierge who checked us in, and finally (vi) the guest relations manager/VIP host - which is probably the only one I know would be insulting to tip… and this is not counting everyone else guests interact with/are throughout the stay of course like the butler, room service, etc….
Any such etiquette tips (pun intended) would be so helpful, so just for me I am sure.

Some years ago I spent three night at the Marina Bay Sands and utterly disliked it. Will never even consider staying there again. My non-smoking room had a great view of Singapore but had cigarette burns in ten places. The room layout was odd and not especially comfortable. Queueing for nearly everything, including the lifts and for breakfast, was outrageous. Having a multitude of non-guests pay to access the pool deck and then gloat as you try to relax and swim is disgusting. Hugely expensive. Singapore has many far better and much cheaper 5-star hotels. MBS was exposed for submitting fake reviews to Tripadviser by the magazine Business Traveller. I wonder how many of those here are actually true!

I'm never really impressed by this stuff. Some rich people just want to pay a lot so they can justify something to themselves or feel a particular way I suppose.

The refreshing station is also known as a beer fridge and small counter space, or a mini bar that motels even have. Instead of the $1.50 bottle of water it's the $7 bottle of water. Okay. I could go to the grocery store and buy those water bottles.

Massage chair. I think I put in coins or a bill at the airport and sat in one of those. It was expensive, meaning $5 or something for the 20 minutes or so. And if you want to buy one for your own house, I'm sure that's much less than $6000.

Champagne. Definitely a symbol of fancy or luxury, but you can buy that in the liquor store, or you can go to a nice elegant beautiful restaurant on a special occasion and have that, and pay much less than $6000.

Even the shower with the jets and all that. I had that, in my own apartment and my rent was way way way way way less than $6000 a MONTH. No need to pay $6000 a day to have luxury cool jets installed in a shower.

Yes, views can be very nice. You can get nice views for .... free.

Even the fancy platting in a restaurant and all that, yes there are fancy restaurants to go to, again just as good but 10% of the price.

It's not like I saw something here that I have never seen before in my entire life. It's just paying more money when you could pay less.

It's not to say the nice fancy comfortable things aren't nice, fancy and comfortable, but you can find nice, fancy and comfortable things without needing to pay $6000 a night like a total moron or someone with an excessive amount of money that they just want to pay x10 more than everyone else for the same thing.

A view with no green is hardly a view. Singapore look like a city for as far as the eye can see. No matter how high you see it from, it hardly looks any better. Two years ago I took my mum for her birthday to the top off marina bay sands to the wolfgang puck spago restaurant (not spago bar but the actual restaurant next door)...it was excellent..quite possibly the best meal we have ever had..Service was spot on and at the end without asking they brought my mum a cake with candles on and a card signed by all the staff on duty that night. I highly recommend the 3 course dinner we got as for singapore standards it really was not badly priced at all. The wine we got cost just as much ! The cocktails at spago bar were great as well for a pre dinner tipple...my tip..go about 5pm so you can get the sunset in later..and then you should have time for either the 7.45 or 8.45pm gardens by the bay show...from spago to the super trees will be about 20mins or so walk so give yourself plenty off time...or just watch it all from high above in spago bar instead and make a night off it there !

What an incredible experience for you. It would be nice to know what a more average guest receives. Your videos would be more accessible and enjoyable if you slowed down and dropped the volume of your heavily accented voiceovers. We miss many of the food descriptions because of the speed, volume, and shrillness of your speech in the voiceovers. Your live speech, however, in the Rolls, at the pool, and in the restaurants is slower, calmer, and clearer, making it much easier to understand.
Thank you.
