I absolutely can't wait to see Chris's reaction when he finally gets to visit Marina Bay Sands. He never misses a chance to talk about it. Living just across the causeway in Malaysia, I haven't visited Singapore in a long time. But after watching your video and seeing how much fun you both had, I'm feeling inspired to make the trip again soon.

$26 for your first taxi ride from the bus station - I guess it's at Lavender St - to your hotel along Beach Road is far too much.
It should be less than $10.
From Raffles Place MRT, you can go to the Fullerton Hotel nearby and cross over directly to the Merlion via the underpass at the hotel.
There's also a beautiful toilet at the basement of the hotel.
The Vanda Joaquim is the orchid of Singapore.
Near your Beach Road hotel is New Bugis Street.
Look for the Albert Centre Market & Food Centre - good food.
Opposite that at Queen Street is the ABC Bargain Centre - same bottle of the Sprite you had at Lady GaGa show for about $2.00.

You can chew gum in Singapore. You just can't sell or buy it here. Singaporeans usually buy one or two packs when they travel to bring home. So long as its not a carton or two then it will be confiscated because it will look like you're going to sell.
@ricohflex-77
@@ricohflex-7710 months ago
The people jaywalking crossing the road in the video were indians. Probably they are foreigners from india. Or foreign workers from india who are working in Singapore. They may or may not know the traffic rules - or they don't care. Because that is how they do it back in india. As for local Singaporeans who cross the road properly, it is not about following "rules". It is about personal safety to avoid being hit by a speeding car.

You do have a point. If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur, it does make sense to come by express bus. If you fly, it will take you about 5 hours like getting to/from the airport, flying time, going through customs, check in, both sides. Flying is more costly than the express bus.

And they weren't jay-walking because there was a traffic light and the cars had all stopped and I can see the green man. That means can cross the road lah! The best foods in Singapore is at hawker centres where each plate costs S$2-S$20. And public transport (Bus or MRT)is less than US$2. No one uses Grab unless absolutely necessary. So Singapore is NOT expensive. Except you guys do the most expensive things. Like most New Yorkers use the subway. They don't take cabs or eat at expensive restaurants unless they have to.
