yep... travelled to many countries and Singapore is by far one of the most or if not, the most expensive places to get a hotel. BUT... youre pretty much guaranteed that what you pard for cant go wrong. Hotel price = hotel quality. Furthermore for that price and in that area that you're staying, its toooootally worth it. I know about the hotel but never saw whats inside. After seeing it.. yep... totally worth it.

Actually your hotel is linked to the Funan shopping mall and allows you to walk all the way underground (via B2) all the way to City Hall MRT without getting wet. So you can absolutely explore other parts of Singapore without getting wet. Via MRT, u can go almost anywhere around Singapore.

I think the appeal of visiting Singapore is to experience how it is now while keeping in mind how Singapore has no natural resources, is tiny af, was abandoned from the bigger Malaya peninsula, and modern Singapore infrastructure and economy accomplished in less than 100 year.

Some tourists are quite strange, they bother to come and then complain how it doesn't have enough countryside and is too expensive. That's like visiting Vatican City and complaining that there isn't enough mosques and outdoor adventure activities

Hey guys, heads up about why Hawker Centers prefer Cash Only. Food is very competitive in SG, not only in terms of taste, but also in terms of affordability.
To drive down food prices, margins are ultra-tight for most stall owners. And setting up tap and pay usually involves companies taking a further cut of profit and requires competency with technology that some older generations are not used to.

The airport is definitely one of the most beautiful attractions in Singapore. Cooling, polished, cosmopolitan, excellent service. But after you leave the airport, you feel the heat. When you visit neighbourhood heartland malls and hawker centres, you start to see the more scrappy sides of the country. The airport to me as a local is the highly sophisticated side of the country often presented to foreigners, but relying on the airport (or central business district) alone to judge Singapore is but a beautiful illusion because most locals don't go there on the day-to-day. I do like that they have made the airport quite accessible for locals to visit though.
