(Next video up) Singapore Itinerary: 3 Days, 4 or 5? What Each Extra Day Buys

https://youtu.be/9pLRHE9RBmo

Appreciate the information. These however are the spots that tourists think define Singapore and hence, Singapore gets its reputation of being a country you can cover in only 3-4days. Please note Singapore needs at least 7-8 days as it's eastern, northern, and north-west areas are just as interesting to see. I will be covering a comprehensive guide to a detailed Singapore itinerary, including the spots that are a complete waste of time. Let's remain authentic and provide people with real feedback. ❤

2019 with my wife, we stayed up the Singapore River at what is now Double Tree by Hilton. A decent hotel, and walking some local river areas was great, but it was a taxi ride to most places.
2023 with my mother and sister, we stayed at what you called Swissotel but was renamed Paradox. Good hotel, not bad on location, but we preferred other areas for evening dining.
2025 with my mother, siter, and wife, we stayed at the Carlton. Excellent location with Raffles City and Suntec close, and an excellent hotel (my wife and I got upgraded and had a FANTASTIC view to the south).

I’ve stayed in Geylang a couple of times. It’s true that it’s a quite obviously a red light district, but it felt fine safety wise. But then again I lived and worked around Kings Cross in Sydney for several years in the 80s. That was way dodgier. The food in Geylang is excellent. It’s cheap and convenient.

I visited in September 2025. Female travelling solo. I stayed at the Ibis Budget hotel in Bugis. This was perfect for me for price, location, sights and transport options. Loved it

While I agree with the comments about Geylang, the comments about Joo Chiat are pretty misleading, I reckon. Joo Chiat Road is quite long and runs from Geylang down to Marine Parade, in the Katong area. Katong is a great area to stay in, which used to have the disadvantage of only buses for public transport, but now the MRT line provides easy access to the other parts of the city. Katong has good eating in cafes and pubs, a hawker centre which is tucked away a bit near the Marine Parade shops, and hotels which are good quality and can be considerably cheaper than other parts of the city. It has a trendy but local vibe, and I have stayed there twice and recommend it as a great (and often overlooked) base for visitors.

I’m from Singapore but now in Australia. I’m a Geylang kind of guy. It’s a bit like Disney Land, there’s lots of rides you’ll want to experience.

Might I recommend all gentlemen stay in a hotel in Geylang. Don’t bring you other half.
