The most notable thing is the convenience, just one place you can get so many different cuisines.

At the 13th minute, applying a European eating style to Asian food looks ridiculous. The way they eat is completely wrong and ruins the dish that the person who made it prepared. =))
I watched this guy's videos in Malaysia and Singapore (because I'm planning a trip there soon), his food reviews made me laugh until I cried. Anyway, thanks for suggesting places I want to visit.

Absolutely always wanted to go to Singapore for there RLD and specially for Universal Studios. Delicious oyster omelette, could eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner but would not. Delicious dumplings. Yum grilled pork satay, definitely would have 2 Cokes to wash it down with. Delicious fish cakes. Definitely interested in Chinatown. 2ND place. Absolutely nothing I saw I would eat. What about all the other stalls you skipped??? 3RD place. Delicious and yummy egg tarts.Absolutely would have tried that crab soup. Can’t go wrong with cheese omelette. That rice nooble roll w/pork looked tasty. Absolutely delicious and yummy fried pork dumplings. Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish // Absolutely Loved Every Second

@AlwaysBlowOnThePie
You ate the Kaya toast and egg completely wrong - you are supposed to put the eggs in a bowl and mix with some soy sauce and white pepper - then you dip the Kaya toast into the egg mixture.

Just head to Malaysia or Indonesia if you want to enjoy authentic food at better prices. Singapore is too pricey.
@raghusuryavanshi1516
Dear Alex, great videos...a suggestion though...dumplings and most other dishes like skewered meats are meant to be enjoyed with one or the other types of dips provided..not on their own...

The popiah is not made with poached daikon, it's turnip 😅
@limhweeling6057
The sour taste sauce is NOT soya sauce, it's vinegar 😅 And the green veg inside the dumplings is not spring onion, it's chives.

Usu chicken rice at the hawker centre is between $4 - $5. A set with vegetables would be around $7. Unless its with added meat, $14 for 2 plates is expensive

Seeing you stick the skewer deep in your mouth scared me, the art of eating the lower half of satay is bite firm enough and slide the meat towards the front, that way you can dip the remaining meat into the sauce.

1st time watching your video, Alex. You have a ravenous appetite. So nice to see you enjoying our local food. I had earlier posted some comments. Kudos to you for pronouncing words correctly👍. Oh.. this is the first time I watch somebody eating kaya toast this way ( with the egg on top). Well… to each his own. I hope you stayed long enough to savour our local food which includes Malay food, Indian-Muslim food,…..
@mandy_145
@@mandy_1451 years ago
Hainanese chicken should be the poached type. Some stalls sell boneless chicken. Where’s the black sauce to drizzle onto the chicken & a bit onto the rice? You found the popiah too sweet because you did not want chilli to go with it. I’ve not finished watching this video. Kudos to you & family for trying our local food 👍

Welcome to Singapore. A lot of westerners thought that the black sauce for dumplings is soy sauce. No, that's actually black vinegar, no soy sauce😂😂😂
Also when eating rice in a plate, we use a spoon and fork. Spoon to scoop the rice and also drink the soup.
@14:55 It's all one single Maxwell Food Centre or hawker centre with various individual food stalls under one roof. It's not first/second/third food halls😁
Should have visited Chinatown Complex (largest hawker centre in Singapore) as well. Lau Pat Sat (where prices are higher and the place is very touristy).
That fried sesame balls with peanuts is one of many dim sum items called jun dui in Cantonese. It is made of glutinous rice flour. That other savoury ball called wu kok is minced meat wrap with mashed yam and fried in flour batter (no floss).

The soft boiled eggs is supposed to be cracked open like you would do with fresh eggs in the saucer. Then add in a dash of soy sauce and pepper and mix them up before slurping it.
