Slow day in Nkandla on voter registration day

Young eligible voters in the rural community of Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal say unemployment and limited economic opportunities are issues which drove them to register to vote in the upcoming local government elections in November 2026.

The IEC has raised concerns about low voter registration among young voters between the ages of 18 and 29.
