UN marks 23rd anniversary of Baghdad HQ bombing

The UN says 2025 was another record year for violence against aid workers with 350 killed with Gaza and Sudan accounting for the largest losses in humanitarian workers.

UN chief Antonio Guterres remembered those who died, those injured, and families whose lives were changed by the bombing.

The UN chief also warned that humanitarian workers continue to face growing dangers around the world, with attacks on civilians and aid personnel increasingly carried out with impunity.

Guterres called on the international community to protect humanitarian workers and uphold the principles they serve.

The ceremony concluded with a minute of silence for fallen UN colleagues and aid workers worldwide.
