South Korean fans angered by the country’s early World Cup exit greeted the returning coach Hong Myung-bo with boos as the national squad arrived at Incheon International Airport on Tuesday (Jun 30). Fans reportedly shouted "Hong Myung-bo, get out!" while one held up a banner that read "Korean football is dead."
Captain Son Hueng-min apologised to fans in an Instagram post and said that the squad’s early exit was a reality that was “not easy to accept”, and that he would do everything to win back the heart of the fans. #fifaworldcup #2026 #southkorea
