India’s biotechnology sector has witnessed remarkable growth, backed by a dedicated biotechnology policy and a rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem. From a few hundred biotech startups in 2014 to over 11,000 today, Indian biotech firms are making a strong mark globally.

Highlighting India’s achievements, Union Minister Jitendra Singh noted that the country was the first to develop a DNA vaccine for COVID-19 and is now being recognised as a global leader in preventive healthcare.
