Mass evacuations involving approximately 400 residents are currently under way in the Breede Valley as severe weather conditions continue to impact large parts of the Western Cape.

The Smalblaar River is rising rapidly and poses an imminent threat to the Spookie Town informal settlement in Rawsonville.
