Court to deliver Enyobeni Tavern Inquest judgment on July 10

Four years on, the families of the twenty-one young people who died at Enyobeni tavern in Scenary park, KuGompo City, are still battling to find closure.

The young people died on 26 June 2022, after overcrowding at the tavern lead to some patrons losing consciousness, while others lost their lives.

Public outrage followed their deaths, with many questioning the sale of alcohol to youngsters, and the role of police and tavern owners' in ensuring compliance to liquor laws.

The families say this day is a reminder of the most devastating time of their lives.
