US, Iran fight, but Trump says ceasefire is holding

The United States and Iran exchanged fire on Thursday in the most serious test yet of the month-long ceasefire.

Iran accuses the US of violating the truce through attacks on Iranian vessels and civilian areas, while Washington says it intercepted unprovoked Iranian strikes and responded in self-defence.

Despite the clashes, US President, Donald Trump, says negotiations with Tehran continue, although Iran insists no agreement has been reached on a US peace proposal.
