National Arts Festival | Newly-appointed CEO Palesa Kadi outlines plans for the 2027 festival

The National Arts Festival in Makhanda in the Eastern Cape, has announced Palesa Kadi as its new Chief Executive Officer, taking over the reigns from Monica Newton who conclude her six-year contract.

Kadi, who hails from the Eastern Cape, brings decades of experience in the arts, culture, heritage, governance and public policy.

She has previously served in senior leadership roles at the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, the National Department of Tourism, ICASA, and has chaired the Mandela Bay Theatre Complex.

Her appointment is being hailed as a boost for the creative sector.
