The Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality in the North West is facing a massive governance crisis, as pressure mounts from oversight bodies and residents. A forensic report by Modiboa Attorneys has uncovered alleged systemic procurement fraud and unauthorised expenditure, linked to an estimated R10-billion governance crisis. The Special Investigating Unit has officially referred five high-ranking officials for internal disciplinary action, following a probe into procurement of over R25-million on behalf of Ditsobotla Local Municipality.
