Cuba grinds to a halt amid worsening blackouts and fuel shortages

Cuba’s government says it is willing to review a $100 million aid proposal from the United States as the country struggles through a worsening energy crisis. Months of a US fuel embargo have led to widespread power outages across the island, bringing daily life to a near standstill. Blackouts have become increasingly common, affecting homes, businesses and essential services.
