France and Spain wildfires: Tens of thousands flee as blazes trigger mass evacuations

More than 80,000 people have been forced from their homes and holiday resorts as wildfires sweep through parts of France and Spain.

France has appealed for international help, while Spain has declared a national emergency as fires threaten communities near Madrid.

Prolonged heatwaves and dry conditions have heightened the risk of fast-moving fires, particularly in areas where dry vegetation is fuelling the flames.
