Two people apprehended in Tete murder not charged

Eastern Cape police are questioning two persons of intrest in connection with the murder of former two-time world boxing champion Zolani "Last Born" Tete, who was shot and killed outside his home in Mdantsane on Friday evening.

Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Nobuntu Gantana says the two persons of interest, aged 30 and 22, were apprehended on Saturday following a tip-off.

Meanwhile, Boxing South Africa in the Eastern Cape has welcomed the arrests, saying preparations for Tete's memorial service and burial have been finalised.
