Ali Khamenei | Huge crowds turn out in Tehran for Ali Khamenei's funeral

Iranians have gathered at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla to pay their respects to the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

His 37-year rule ended when a US-Israeli airstrike killed him in February.

The Asian country is staging a week of mass funeral processions for Khamenei.

His body is expected to be taken to Qom, Najaf and Kerbala before being laid to rest next Thursday in Mashhad, home to the country's holiest pilgrim shrine.
