The Union of Kenya Civil Servants has rejected the government's latest salary review, dismissing it as a standard annual increment and not a pay rise. Union officials led by the Secretary General Lawrence Ochieng say the Salaries and Remuneration Commission did not factor in the proposals by the Union that considered the harsh economic realities. They are now giving SRC and the Public Service Ministry a 14-day ultimatum to stop the implementation and return to the negotiating table or face a national strike.
