Union rejects Pick 'n Pay Section 189 notice

The South African Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union has rejected the Section 189 notice Pick n Pay has issued to workers.

The union now plans labour action, accusing the retailer of undermining collective bargaining processes.

Pick n Pay has proposed an overhaul of its store labour model through the process.

SACCAWU warns that this could push workers out, despite previous assurances that no jobs would be cut.
