Calls for justice following student's death

Some residents of Mangaung are calling for justice for 25-year-old student Kgotso Khaeane, who was allegedly run over multiple times by a vehicle.

While police have confirmed that a case of culpable homicide has been opened, an eyewitness, Kgomotso Morooselle had hoped that before Khaeane's burial, the alleged perpetrator would have been arrested.

Khaeane was laid to rest today in Bloemfontein.

Morooselle says the incident happened after Khaeane intervened when the suspect, who is alleged to be a former senior Mangaung Metro official, was allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
