Abu Dhabi's ADNOC Distributions set to acquire Shell's downstream business in SA

South Africa's fuel retail landscape is set for one of its biggest changes in decades. Abu Dhabi's biggest oil company ADNOC Distribution is set to acquire Shell's downstream business in South Africa in a R16.3 billion deal expected to conclude next year.

The transaction would see ADNOC take control of nearly 600 Shell service stations nationwide, while the Shell brand will continue operating under a licensing agreement.
