23rd Women in Science Awards | DSTI Minister Blade Nzimande delivers opening address

Since 2003, the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) has hosted the South African Women in Science Awards (SAWISA), which is celebrated every year during Women's Month, to recognise and reward excellence in science, technology and innovation among South Africa's women.

In his keynote address, DSTI Minister Blade Nzimande explained the importance of the South African Women in Science Awards and their role in encouraging more women to pursue careers in STEM fields.
