G7 backs Ukraine's long-range strike capabilities | Ukraine Brief

In a statement released Wednesday, the G7 leaders said there is a “new momentum” in Ukraine and called for increased support of its long-range capabilities. Kyiv welcomed the ""positive change of tone,"" and President Trump agreed to increase pressure on Moscow. Washington has quietly allowed a limited sanctions waiver for Russian seaborne crude oil to expire.

On Tuesday, Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point announced that a Ukrainian ballistic interceptor missile is ready but still needs to be integrated with homing devices and radar systems. This comes as Ukraine continues to face a shortage of interceptor missiles capable of preventing Russian ballistic attacks.
