Treasury withholds funds from 69 municipalities

National Treasury says it has temporarily withheld equitable share payments that were due to be released to 69 municipalities this month. This, it says, to instil fiscal discipline in them.The affected municipalities have been given due notice and have been afforded an opportunity to explain why their due funds should not be withheld.
