Flood deaths confirmed in Kuruman area

Police divers have found the bodies of two men who tried to cross a flooded stream in Mecwa-tsa-ne-ng village near Kuruman. One was found yesterday, and the earlier today.

Persistent rainfall in the province since Wednesday evening has caused severe flooding in large areas of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District.

The Joe Morolong local municipality is reportedly one of the most severely affected areas. Flooding has destroyed several bridges, leaving some villages isolated.
