ANC in Northern Cape expels five councillors

The ANC in the Northern Cape has expelled five councillors serving in the Sol Plaatje Municipality following a disciplinary process.

The party says the councillors were found guilty of misconduct that brought the organisation into disrepute.

The fired councillors are also accused of acting against ANC values and disciplinary code.

The move comes four months before local government elections, the vacancies at Council cannot be filled.
