#Venezuela: at least 2,500 #killed in #earthquake as #rescue teams continue searching

Recovery efforts continue in Venezuela as emergency crews hope to find people clinging to life under the rubble more than a week after a pair of powerful earthquakes devastated the western part of the country.

At least 2,595 people have been killed in the quakes, prompting acting president Delcy Rodriguez to call for a week of national mourning on Thursday.
