MPs want a law developed to compensate victims of human-wildlife conflict

MPs now want the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife to develop a legislative proposal to reinforce funds for compensation for human-wildlife conflicts from the revenue generated by the sector. The National Assembly Petitions Committee, while engaging Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, observed that the sustainability of the compensation fund for victims of human-wildlife conflicts was dependent on the goodwill of the government of the day; hence the need to anchor the source of funds in the law.
