US Centcom forces launch strikes against Iran

The United States Central Command says its forces have launched "self-defense" strikes against Iran, with multiple targets hit. In a statement on X, Centcom said the strikes were in response to Iran's unwarranted and continued aggression. Iranian state media reported that the Iran Revolutionary Guard had targeted U.S. military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain with and that the IRGC has hit two ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Sherwin Bryce-Pease reports that the price of brent crude oil remained elevated at above 90 dollars a barrel, rising news of the latest military escalation.
