Foot-and-Mouth Disease mass vaccination campaign in Shabalala

More than 2.7 million head of cattle have been vaccinated since the start of the mass vaccination rollout programme in the country.

The Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen, his Mozambican and Eswatini counterparts, and the MEC for Agriculture in Mpumalanga, Khethiwe Moeketsi, joined the 7th mass vaccination campaign in Shabalala, near Hazyview.

The goal is to reduce the incidence of foot and mouth disease by at least 70 percent in high-risk provinces by the end of 2026.
