We have taken note of the remarks made by the Prime Minister of Nepal, as well as the statement issued by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the India–Nepal border. While nearly 98% of the India–Nepal border has already been demarcated, there are still a few areas where issues remain to be resolved. This situation has arisen due to changes in the course of the Gandak River. In addition, there are instances of cross-border encroachment and encroachments on no-man’s land in certain demarcated sections of the border, which are currently being jointly mapped. We have established bilateral mechanisms to address all border-related issues. It should be clear to all concerned that any bilateral matters between India and Nepal are to be resolved directly between the two countries, and there is no role for any third party in such matters: Randhir Jaiswal, MEA Spokesperson
