Commemorating 50 years of the Soweto uprising : encouraging youth to register to vote.

As South Africa marks the 50th anniversary of the Expressions in partnership with the IEC will be live this afternoon from the Hector Pieterson memorial in Soweto to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the June 16 student uprising. Part of this initiative is look back at the impact of youth activism also encouraging today’s youth to register to vote in order to have their voice heard. To tell us more we Expressions Presenter Azaria Khoza who will be speaking to Mr Pitsi about their event today. 16 Student Uprising, Expressions, in partnership with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), will broadcast live this afternoon from the Hector Pieterson Memorial in Soweto. The event will reflect on the enduring legacy of youth activism and its impact on South Africa's democracy, while also encouraging young people to register to vote and make their voices heard at the ballot box.
