Polish, Ukrainian archaeologists begin search for 1943 mass graves in Volhynia

Polish and Ukrainian archaeologists are set to arrive in the Kovel district in western Ukraine’s Volhynia region on Monday, ahead of excavations of mass graves scheduled to begin the following day.

The area was home to two Polish villages whose residents were massacred by members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in 1943.
