Water removal efforts in Cape Town's low-lying areas

The City of Cape Town says residents in low-lying areas affected by the ongoing storm will be prioritised in the city's water removal efforts. Flooding has been reported in various informal settlements, across Cape Town, including Khayelitsha, Gugulethu and Valhalla Park, affecting thousands of residents. While one motorist died and another was injured in two separate incidents, when gale force winds uprooted trees which fell on their vehicles.
