Singapore government announces second support package amid energy crisis | Full speech and Q&A

Second Minister for Finance Jeffrey Siow and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling announced additional support measures for Singaporean households and businesses on Wednesday (Jul 29) to help ease rising cost pressures amid the conflict in the Middle East.

Singaporean households can expect to receive an additional S$300 in CDC vouchers and enhanced U-Save rebates.

Businesses will receive help through a one-off SME Cash Grant and an enhancement to the Enterprise Financing Scheme. Stallholders in markets and hawker centres managed by the government or government-appointed operators will also be given at least S$600 in rental support.

These measures are on top of those previously announced at Budget 2026 and in the Ministerial Statement on Apr 7.
