Gojek co-founder and former Indonesian education minister Nadiem Makarim was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday (Jun 30) in a corruption case. Prosecutors said his decision to procure Chromebooks for schools during the COVID-19 pandemic, while serving as education minister, was linked to Google's investment in Gojek and caused about US$120 million in state losses. Nadiem has denied any wrongdoing and says he will appeal the verdict.#indonesianews #indonesia #gojek
