All gates of the Salal Dam in Reasi have been opened after a sharp rise in reservoir inflow caused by heavy rainfall in the upper catchment. Downstream, the Chenab River’s water level and flow are increasing. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and urge people living near riverbanks or in low-lying areas to remain alert and keep well clear of the water.
