Gautrain is an initiative of the Gauteng Province Government. With 10 stations across North, South, and East Gauteng, and 80km of rapid rail network connecting key economic corridors in Gauteng, contributing to the increasing demand for affordable and reliable public transport in the province. As of last month, nearly 15,000 people have applied for the Gautrain's discounted KlevaMova affordability product since it was launched last year.
The product has offered qualifying passengers a 50% discount on Gautrain fares, targeting individuals from households earning R350 000 or less annually, scholars, pensioners and SASSA disability grant recipients.
