Final chance to register before 2026 LGE

Eligible voters will this weekend have their final chance to register before the 2026 Local Government Election.

The Electoral Commission of South Africa says over 48,000 trained electoral officials will be on hand to welcome and assist eligible voters to register, update their details or verify their registration information ahead of the elections.

To give us an update on the IEC's preparations for their final voter registration weekend, we are joined by the IEC's Deputy Chief Electoral Officer for Outreach, Dr Victor Shale.
